The RIBB has 5 main missions:
- Coordination and leadership, in conjunction with the IBBs, the IBB coordinating institutions, the various SABB players, government bodies and funding bodies,
- Communication and dissemination to different audiences (the general public, industry, regulatory bodies, etc.) in order to improve the visibility and recognition of the know-how and expertise of the IBBs among those involved in the development and production of biotherapies,
- Support to establish/consolidate the development strategy of IBBs and their professionalisation, while initiating an environmental approach to reduce the carbon footprint of biotherapeutics production,
- Mapping regulatory and quality assets and needs, and helping to initiate/acquire a quality approach in order to meet the expectations of customers and regulatory agencies and, ultimately, facilitate the transfer of IBB technologies/solutions to the clinic and/or the market,
- Finding solutions for managing IBB data/projects and secure data exchange with users and customers.
The RIBB has a budget of €5m over 5 years.
